Improving Health Through Flavorful Eating



The Article from Nutrition Today, talks about how flavorful eating with herbs and spices can help improve health. Herbs and spices can help people change their behavior of bad eating; to motivate them to achieve healthful diet. There are three key areas in herbs and spices that are importance to flavor in diet. Number one is improving the acceptance of reduced-fat and reduced-calorie foods. Number two is changing behavioral intentions among children and adults. And number three is developing healthier and more flavorful food products and menus. In addition to Nutrition Health; Eurekalert added that spices and herbs play a important role by reducing sodium, calorie, and fat intake which will make eating healthy more exciting. It was also mention that, studies suggest that some spices and herbs may have beneficial effects on energy, satiety, inflammation (ex. Tumeric), insulin resistance, metabolism, and cardiovascular issues

There is more evidences and research regarding that herbs and spice do to help your health. One, (H&S),when added to reduce fat meals may help people who stuggle with long term dietary changes to reduce fat. Secondly, they have the potential to help the people meet the dietary guidelines for soduim without giving up taste. Third, it enhances energy metabolism and satiety. Inaddition, red peppers may assist people who are trying to manage their weight. Forth, spice blend added to high-fat meals decreased post meal insulin and triglyceride levels compare to a meal without the spices. Lastly, cinnamon may help improve blood glucose levels and insulin sensitivity.
